With a population as diverse as America’s, one is bound to have at least one, and likely more English Language Learner. For those who are learning English as a second language, keeping up socially and academically in a classroom can be incredibly challenging. While together with their classmates they are tasked with learning new material, they have the additional challenge of learning it in a language that is unfamiliar to them, which aids in many of them falling behind their peers. For teachers, this also presents a challenge as they struggle to juggle teaching the class as a whole, while giving the English Language Learners the additional support they need.
